The Metagross by the door narrowed its eyes before sending a gyro ball right toward Fantome. The one by the hallway suddenly charged Blair, lifting one of its massive appendages before swinging it toward her.

Fantome jumped and dove to avoid the attack. Out of panic, he sent a Shadow Ball to counter the attack.

Blair just stared at the oncoming fist and then squeezed her eyes shut, wishing she could just get out of the way. Just when the arm should have connected with her body, she found herself at the other end of the room as the Metagross hit some kind of dummy, which disappeared at contact. Blair immediately flew back to Fantome's side, a little winded from using the substitute.

The beast roared in anger after being duped, but then took a few steps back. The other Metagross' whole body started to glow a bright white.

Fantome got back to his feet after firing the attack, getting back into his meek fighting stance. He stood ready to dodge or counter, whispering over to Blair, "Are you okay?"

Blair nodded, not taking her eyes away from the glowing hulk. "I-I'm fine"

Just then the light seemed to engulf the whole room as the Metagross by the door used explosion. There was a huge boom as it sent a shockwave right toward Blair and Fantome.

Without thinking Blair threw herself in front of Fantome, arms out in a defensive position. She squeezed her eyes shut, but when the attack came their way, there was no impact. Blair opened her eyes once more and saw there was some kind of force field surrounding them.

Fantome gasped as the attack started to near them. He covered his arms over his face and head, bracing for the impact. When nothing hit him, he slowly looked up at the force field and Blair in front of him. "H..How're you doing that?"

Blair looked back at him, a scared look on her face. "I-I don't know...m-maybe I know Protect"

As the light faded, the Metagross could be seen lying on the floor, seemingly lifeless. The one by the hallway roared in anger as it shot a hyperbeam right toward Fantome, using the explosion to charge it when the other two were distracted. There was no time to escape as it used the element of surprise.

Fantome had only turned halfway around before the attack hit him straight on. He didn’t even time to yell out in pain as it sent him flying across the room, sliding a few feet as he made contact with the ground. He didn't get up this time, he didn't even move.

Blair screamed as she flew to Fantome and landed next to him. Tears were running down her face as she wrapped her arms around him. "F-fantome! Please say something!"

It took a few moments, but Fantome twitched a bit, sitting up. Only a dim light was glowing behind his mask at this point. His coat was tattered around the left side of his back, luckily his violin had slid off and across the room when they were first flung into the fight. "I..I'm okay.." His voice was feint.

The Metagross seemed to growl in satisfaction as it took a step toward them.

Blair helped him sit up against the wall as she tried to wipe the tears away. She turned to the monster as she struggled to control her emotions. "Y-you hurt him!" The ground seemed to rumble around them. "W-we've done nothing to you and you still attack us!" The walls started to shake around them. "Just go away!" she screamed. She let go of her hold on her emotions, and as she did the ground around the Metagross seemed to cave in. The earthquake hit it full force, as it seemed to scream in pain. It lasted for about half a minute, and after the dust cleared the Metagross lay still on the floor. The room was in shambles, with cracks in the walls and floor and the furniture ruined. Blair slumped down onto the ground, completely drained.

As the earthquake rumbled, Fantome covered his head and neck with his arms just in case any falling debris came his way. He peeked through his arms once the dust had clearing, Blair slumped over. He staggered to his feet and made his way over to her, collapsing again by her side. "You...that was amazing...are you alright..?"

Blair nodded as she tried to catch her breath. "W-what was... h-how did I..." She wrapped her arms around herself, not sure what exactly happened.

Fantome put an arm around his, letting it rest on her shoulders. He was a bit out of breath as well. "It's okay..it's all over now.." He tried to comfort her.

Blair moved her arms and wrapped them around Fantome's neck, hugging him tightly. Tears were still running down her face. "T-that was so frightening!" She couldn't get her body to stop shaking, both out of fear and exhaustion.

Fantome paused for a second as she pulled him into a hug. He shook his head slightly and wrapped his arms around her, calmly shushing her crying, "I know, I know..they're knocked out now, it's all okay."

After a few minutes Blair's crying started to quiet as her breathing and heart beat calmed. She picked her head up, blushing out of embarrassment. "S-sorry..."

Fantome let her go and chuckled a little, "That's quite alright. You did great out there."

"I-I don't know how I did that... I just got so emotional..." She stared at the ground, still unsure of herself. Blair then looked up at him. "I-I could have hurt you..." she said in a quiet voice.

Fantome shook his head, "But you saved me..and for that, I'm very thankful."

She gave him a small smile. "A-anytime..." Blair's gaze then shifted to the lone door in the room. "I-I guess we should find out what's behind that door..."

Fantome nodded, the glint of his key across the room catching his eye. He got to his feet shakily, going over and picking the key up.

Blair got to her feet after a moment, watching Fantome as he picked up the key.

Fantome turned the key around in his hand before looking over to Blair and motioning over to the door, "Shall we go?"

Blair nodded as she walked over to him. "A-alright"

Fantome walked over to the door, careful to avoid any debris on the way.

Blair followed in the air, fluttering slightly above him. "Let's see what the big deal is"

Fantome nodded, putting the key into the lock, twisting the doorknob open.

As light flooded into the demolished room, Blair stared inside. "Interesting..."

First drawing I've done completely on my tablet. It took me a couple days to really get it how I wanted it, but I also learned so much and I couldn't be happier with the results.
